Using all kinds of materials from around the classroom, we created self portraits. Then we wrote similes to go with them about ourselves. This was a little challenging, but we will definitely remember what a simile is. We were inspired by the book My Friend is a Sharp as a Pencil.

Since we have been working with fractions and decimals already this year, we took out our calculators to determine the percentage of each color in our Smarties roll.
We worked in groups to come up with as many was possible to make 100. This group had lots different ways!
After researching from multiple sources, we created these brochures where we compared and contrasted the hurricane and tornado similarities and differences.
After doing the water cycle stations, we were ready to make a comic strip with the information. Using captions, thought bubbles, speech bubbles and illustrations, it really makes the water cycle come to life.
What a great day to be learning about weather instruments like Doppler radar. We were ready when the bell rang and it was time to go home in the pouring rain.
We used the website EdPuzzle to watch a video about the Water Cycle. We answered questions along the way. You really need to listen carefully to get the answers right!
